Playstation 4 release date targeted around November 2012?

I have information that the Wii U will be ready November 2012, so it only makes sense that the next generation of video games is going to be out around that time frame. However, a new playsstation portable with PS3 quality graphics also could be around that same time period, so it's very possible they could put that against the Wii U and come out with the playstation 4 later on. Either way, late 2012 to early 2013 looks like the general timeframe and it will be more narrowed down as we get closer to the ultimate ps4 release date. If you've seen what the Wii U is like, it's almost as if they read the blog, with the touchpad controller that you can take with you and give an even more 3d like effect just like I talked about on this blog. Anyways, I would suspect that the playstation 4 would be around the same time. I haven't heard anything significant lately, unlike the Wii-U which has been shown. But there is indeed a playstation 4 at least in the production phase. The playstation portable to have playstation 3 quality games will have a chip coming out I believe around 2013 if my memory serves correctly, if not, check my other posts it's in there somewhere documented with the links.

I can't wait unltil the playstation 4 comes out. Sorry, short post today

Sony's Playstation Portable 2 "Next Generation Portable (NGP), PS phone, etc

Time to update you on what many diehards already know.but Sony confirmed the Playstation Portable 2 as confirmed. The successor of the playstation portable or PSP is in fact called the Next Generation Portable. It's very sleek of course, and although the tsunami may have delayed things it seems the PSP2 or NGP will be ready by christmas time before 2012.

In other news, Wii announced "Wii U" and Sony is rumored to have a new console the PS4 in 2012!
That is very fast and way ahead of what I expected. After the debut of the Playstation Move I thought they might have bought more time and in the meantime could focus on competing with Apple, and testing developments in the playstation network which could evolve into the playstation 4's network.
Since it's coming earlier than I thought it's probably not going to have virtual reality or eyewear. However, you probably still will have real world MMORPG games and the processing power will be to develop online gaming. You probably will have the playstation store still the main function and it probably is designed in conjunction with the PSP2... I mean the NXG... and the S1 and S2 by Sony Erricsson, as well as the playstation phone, aka "Sony Ericsson Xperia Play"

Looks like exponential is the name of the game and in fact technology is evolving even faster than I had predicted! It seems the PSP3 should be out in 2013 with PS3 quality graphics

Also... Developers are working on launch title games for playstation 4 and havebeen since late 2010, meaning that by the time they're done they expect the playstation 4 to be ready to launch. This means 2012 to 2014 will be launchtime for the PS4.

Open Letter To Sony Regarding The PS4 - updated 11/12/2010

Originally posted 3/9/2009. This is open in more ways than one. This letter is open to all to read, but it also is open for addition, and open for you to comment on things you would like to see with the PS4.

In light of the economy being in difficult shape, how is the PS4 going to be able to make things easier for themselves without sacrificing quality?

1)

WHAT

First, go digital. Sony has already seemed to drop some hints that the next system might not even use DVDs, but as a consumer I am in full support.

WHY
It is expensive to do things the "old" way so it makes sense for Sony. Why would I like it? Easy... It's more convenient. I don't want to go out to the bookstore to buy a book, so I use amazon. I don't want to go drive 15 miles to the retailer like Best Buy and back so I would rather just buy at home.

Sony shouldn't have to "pay the middlemen". The wholesalers, and the retailers eat up costs for shipping. In addition, they will raise prices on the already "crunched" consumer.

The consumers can't afford to pay higher prices due to the additional costs that you normally would pass on, but even if they can, the wholesalers are taking money away indirectly by raising the prices to cover their costs of shipping to retailers, and to package and to also make a profit. When they pass it onto the retailers, the retailers must also hike up the price to make a profit.

When the consumer has to pay $80 for a game when Sony sold it to the wholesaler at $40, that's indirectly costing you up to as much as $40 as that $40 could potentially go towards buying another game.

Of course, that ignores the costs of making the game and shipping it out to the wholesalers.

In addition, if developers can only create the game by using your network on the sony digital platform, you may be able to consider collecting fees. The game makers won't mind, because the profit margins for a digital game will be higher anyways.

Oh yeah, and the gas prices are kind of expensive, less driving means more money in my pocket, which means more money for video games... Not to mention that some people go out shopping and they end up coming home with a whole lot more than they intended on buying, most of which is not the video game they set out to buy. Add in all of the impulse buyers and this is just so obvious, it's a no brainer.

HOW

This could be done a number of ways, The games could be installed in some digital memory drive similar to Sandisc memory sticks. It could use cartridges, or it could use a more innovative way of a small chip it could be placed inside the front of the console and read. But I think the best option would be to use an online store where people can buy games for reasons already mentioned.

This is probably already something Sony is working on. Afterall, they have the Sony Store in PS3, it would make sense for them to just expand that completely for PS4.

2)

WHAT

MANY New Features in the Sony Store

WHY?

If buying at the Sony Store is how you're getting your game sales, you better make sure you do everything to keep them there.

HOW

When they turn on the game, they automatically log on. They are brought to a page with a reminder of NEW games. They are told what coupons and discounts they qualify for, or how close they are to the next "level" of discounts. Earn X more points and your discounts are twice as good, or Earn X more points and you get a free game!

All sorts of promotions could be run, buy 2 get one free or buy 1 get the 2nd half off. You could get points for purchases which could be used for special offers, or converted into cash. You might even give them points for playing longer to reward their loyalty to you to ensure they're not off playing nintendo's or microsofts games instead.

Make sure to have all sorts of free ads for the games, but in some cases you can even charge for them to see "full length demos".

One of the best negotiating techniques is "nibbling" this is where you might buy a car and agree to it and then right before you go to sign you say things like "that does come with a free tank of gas right?" "okay, well how about a free warentee?".

From the other side, someone might get you to buy a completely stripped down car with no features for a "really good deal" but then as you go to buy it, they say "for only this much extra you can have this" and so on.

How does Sony use this?

The way The Sony store could run it, is have cheaper games, but then in order to buy additional characters, you'd have to pay extra, then in order to buy additional levels, you'd have to pay extra. You might still give them to have the option to "buy the full game" but have "upgrade packs"

Let all the major game makers know of all the built in features you have to make this VERY easy for them.

Allow people to rent games at this store, and have reminders when they are running out of time, and ask them if they want to renew. Once you have their credit card once to buy one game, they will not need to take it out again to buy, they can just use their account password and verify their actions.

Customers might be a little ticked off at first at all these additional costs until they understand this is how things are done, but will actually learn to like it even more if you take into account the reduced value in the pricing. I hate buying a game that I get bored with, I'd much rather pay $30 for an incomplete game that might end up costing $60, then find out It's too difficult, and I don't want to "upgrade". I might not even buy a game because it seems like too much, and don't want to take the time to go out to a store and rent it. Major successful companies win because of convenience. However, I would pay for a "trial" of several games, and I might even subscribe for continuously new trials.

update: One new feature I have thought of and have been mentioning lately is a netflix style subscription but only for video games instead.Different subscriptions might represent different time lengths you are allowed to play for or the number of new games you get to try and play instantly each month.

3)

WHAT: Make the users involved in the development of the game

WHY: I get tired of all these extentions on game release dates. With this system, they could release sneak previews of the game, then a beta version of the game, and then the complete game, and then bonus games. Every step along the way they could get feedback.

Diehards would love to pay every single step along the way, some might even pay additional amounts to get automatic updates. But with the user providing feedback the games would fit their tastes, and you would make sure they don't continously get disapointed with lack of a real high quality game... if they don't like it they can provide better feedback!

Going along with what was mentioned before, there could be additionl fees for upgrades, but rewards for those who already own the previous game, especially if they have provided a lot of feedback.

Not only that, but you have access to tons of beta testers who are willing to PAY for the games. (sorry beta testers, don't hurt me, just an idea!)

HOW: You can reward them if you want quality feedback with "points" if they are willing to submit reviews about the game, and you can actually track how long they tested the game for to reward them more. This perhaps will be the best part of it. It will provide a lot of hype as well as people will be talking about the games, and brainstorming in forums together about different ideas.

This complete integration will be excellent. An EA Sports game like Madden, may never have to stop being created. Simply pay for an upload of the new features, the new draft class, the changes in teams, and everything else. If they want to play online, they MUST have the latest stuff, and they must occasionally pay for new updates or find someone else who has fewer updates or agrees to play the less complete game.

Some people want the game as soon as possible... others don't even want the game at all if it isn't complete and end up being disapointed that certain glitches aren't fixed, that certain features aren't added. With this method they get to say exactly what they want, and if they don't get it, they can continue to suggest the idea, let other people know until everyone else agrees and the game maker can better suit their customer.

With games made for the gamer, BY the gamer, who wouldn't want to own a PS4?

Update: Seems like Playstation 3 has already integraded some of this stuff to the best of it's ability. But isn't quite there yet. I'm talking about being able to download a beta version of the game

4) What: Remain backward compatible - this may seem to contridict the whole going digital thing but it doesn't have to be. Also, it might be more expensive to provide disc technology when all the new PS4 games are digital.

WHY? People aren't going to be as willing buy the new system if Sony changes their policy and suddenly doesn't support at least the previous game console. But how can this be addressed if it's digital?

It would be more expensive if it was a digital console that also had a dvd

Here's how...

You could go with an additional device a external DVD player, but I don't think that's the best option. The best option I think, is to use the PS3 sony online and hard drive, and have the ability to convert all games to their online account. They could then transfer their old games (only once or twice to prevent theft) to the online store, and login with their new device.

If you allow an external device as an option, people can use that to upload and store it online as well if they wish. People could pay for larger storage that they could access. This way anyone can use their account without lugging around their game console. They simply visit a friend who also has it, and login and play. Some serious gamers have huge Lan parties where they bring over all their friends and have everyone bring a console, they all hook up and connect to lan to play. This makes it MUCH more convenient.
How do you prevent people from not buying a console and just creating an account at their friends and then using that wherever they go? Simple, only one household per account, and only a few accounts per household. There may be a few, but what's to say they wouldn't have done that anyways?

5) What

Protect hackers and mods stealing games from other networks...

Why? It's obvious,

How

Easy... Since all games are controlled on the PS store, you simply hire people to encrypt it, then to make sure the programmers don't leave themselves the backdoor and later leak the encryption codes, you hire someone else to encrypt the encryption. Of course there will still be people who try to hack it, but making it much more difficult will help

Another solution is to just somehow allow it.
update: I think a subscription gaming would make it easy as no one would have a need to hack to get different games if they can pay $20 a month and play any game they want.

Innovate, Innovate, Innovate: I want to see ground breaking technology, I want to have it revolutionize the way I do things. I want to be able to plug in electrodes and to have all 5 senses stimulated, But I also want to be able to use my 5 senses and my thoughts to have the game react in a different way. I want a simulation of real life. Why not life itself? Because I want to try stuff, knowing that if I fail, I won't die, knowing that if I mess up, I can "reset". I want realism. I want the game to recognize my behavior and anticipate my moves to force me to consciously think about the way I'm thinking. I don't just want this game to change how I think about gaming, I want the gaming to change the way I think about thinking.

I also want an outer experience as well. I want there to be lights that I can turn off with a wave of the hand, but that interact with me, that shine like a flashlight in the dark when I'm playing a game. I want to almost live my fears, and then go on to defeat them walking away knowing there's nothing to be afraid of because I have learned how to outsmart my own thoughts. I want to look death in the eye and walk away feeling victorious. I want a platform so real that businesses will actually PAY you to have access to it's players and choose the person that can handle the simulations. I want the dream that NASA might just contact me about an astronaught, that I can get my pilots license just by playing enough realistic flight simulations, I want NFL teams recruiting me to be a coach just because I can run their offense, or my own offense to such perfection. I want to have investors paying me to invest in real estate because I beat donald trump in the newest real estate game. I want to compete online in tournaments to win cash, or opportunities. I want to be able to transfer everything I've learned by becoming a better gamer toward life, knowing with full confidence that simulation was realistic enough where I actually possess the mental ability under emotional pressures to succeed if that were actually real.

I want to know that the game is a network of everyone's thoughts and it is learning how to adapt, learning how to perhaps even automatically making suggestions to changes in it's own programing for the game to simulate more how the players play, where it models the players that can defeat it, where it models the worst players so they can beat it so new players that choose a low difficulty level can still enjoy winning, and so that even the best players can have a challenge as the game forces you to continue to grow in your abilities to be able to beat it.

6) What: 3d technology
Why: It's cool!
How: PS3 already is implimenting 3d technology, but what I am refering to is an advancement of it. More virtual reality type technology where you put on eyewear and it shades out as much external light as you choose, and you can see the game in 3d. The headwear could also be motion gaming so that in addition to the playstation move, it could also respond to more subtle head movements. Additionally this technology could provide the groundwork to take it portable via virtual reality eyewear. Eventually the technology would be something that could just be a very transparent image that also has features similar to what an iphone has. The advancement of nanotechnology will further be able to allow people to wear a simple contact lense. Of course, there would have to be some sort of way to interact with it and I'm not sure if the thought technology will be discreet enough for people to use everywhere without looking embarasingly weird. So instead perhaps small touchpads that go on the finger so people can type on an empty desk or table or use a desk or table as a touchpad as long as they have the clear possibly even disposable touchpad that can stick to their finger like a peice of tape.

7) Micro Projection -
What: Ability to use something to project the game onto the wall
Why: Gamers can take the game where they want, they can also see it on a bigger screen if they have small TVs, or transfer their game over if someone else in the household needs the TV. Additionally it can provide more convenience and again lay the ground work to make gaming portable and more accessible.
how: This technology exists at least in the early developmental stages already. There is real nano technology that allows someone to use a pen to project a keyboard in front of them, and a monitor for the screen as well. I want PS4 to harness this technology. Maybe this can be more for the future of perhaps the PSP3 as I understand the release of PSP2 may be forthcomming soon. Once the technology in #6 has advanced enough maybe it would make this obsolete, maybe not.
If anyone wants to add something please make a comment!

PSP2 release date: Coming Soon To Bring In A New World Of Entertainment?

There are many rumors going around. It looks like I've been away for far too long. Is the PSP2 the same as the PlayStation phone? Or is this a separate device coming in 2011 to compliment the PSP Phone (PS Phone? Name pending)

Is the PSP2 release date really in 2011? Could it actually be that PlayStation is soon going to release a new device or console? In fact the PlayStation portable was a hit, but could use an upgrade. The PlayStation portable release is going to be like a gamer's ipad it seems, as the rumors are that Sony is going after apple's market share. I don't know everyone loves games on their phone now, but what about evolving it? PSP could go in the direction of a smart-phone, or an ipad, or perhaps somewhere between. Personally, if it's a gamer phone I would like it to be twice the size of an iphone, but the problem is, that would be bulky in the pocket. If you go larger than an iphone, it's less portable. If you go iphone size, it's tough on the eyes to seriously consider games on it. However, I think they can pull off an iphone size screen with additional buttons on the sides or bottom.

So after much consideration of the impact of PlayStation motion and PlayStation 3 in 3dTV has, I realized that, wow... much of what I thought could have been possible with the PS4, is already possible with the PS3 thanks to software updates and accessory add-ons. I mean, even thought technology such as Emotiv's device could be added as an add on accessory provided a software update was done, and the games were made to support it. So what in the world can be the future of gaming? I have a few ideas still, but clearly the PSP2 is next on the list and should be released well before the PS4.

From my perspective the PlayStation move along with the 3d gaming patch to integrate with 3ds and special thanks to Netflix and Hulu plus for making themselves available with a simple download to the PS3 and the PS3 suddenly has an entirely new look and it's like it's a new console. You might as well call it PlayStation 3 2.0 or PlayStation 3 2nd generation or something.

As it turns out the PlayStation portable 2 release date could be as soon as 2011?! How's that for soon?

All I have to say is with PS move, PS3 in 3d, and an upcoming PSP2, is "in your face competitors."

The next post will brainstorm some ideas for the PSP2.

Playstation 4 Still Not Here Yet

Yes, I know you've been anxiously awaiting. Yes, I know many believed that the release date would be the end of 2010 or early 2011. Suffice to say that the PS4 release date is probably still going to be a ways away. All I know is I have heard nothing as to when the playstation 4 will be released, I don't know how far along they are, and all I can tell you is it still will be awhile.

Foretunately when it does get here, there may very well be a major breakthrough and this could be the most revolutionary system yet. How can I say that? Because there are actually systems out with the power to read your mind and operate controller free. Yes, it's in the primitive stages, but you may be able to play a game just by thinking about it, and playstation 4 will have the technology to do that. Altohough it's a bummer to wait this long, the longer we wait for a PS4 release date, the better the liklihood is that the technology will be superior as technology continues to improve. One of the most optomistic things is Japan's investing more than anyone else in nanotechnology, and Sony, a Japan based company will benefit greatly. That means if you want to have a system that works better and faster than ever, you will just have to wait it out. However, the possibilities for the capabilities of the next greatest system as a new generation hits are endless. Until then, grab a playstation 3 console system and a few games and use that to keep you busy while technology continues to advance.

Preorder Playstation 4

Preorder Playstation 4

A lot of people are excited about the playstation 4 debut, and many ask, "how can I preorder it"? It's a good question, considering how so many people rushed to reserve the playstation 3, that it seems obvious the playstation 4 will have serious demand. The PS4 game console, will no doubt in line with sony tradition be another mania of demand, with line stuffing excitement on it's release date. It's obvious why anyone would want to grab a copy as soon as they can. Unfortunately you can't reserve your copy before it's invented as far as I'm aware of. The rumors continue to circulate that PS4 may be ready as early as late 2010. My guess is it won't be out that soon, but it's entirely possible.

Who knows what kind of future games will be available for the upcoming new game console? But wouldn't it be nice to order it in advance?

Order the Playstation 4 Early

There's certainly a lot of value in preordering it. Game consoles often simply do not have enough games in stock when they are released. Whether they actually can't get enough physical product out, or if it's just a marketing ploy is irrelevant, the fact is there are plenty of rich people at home who are willing to buy their golden ticket to the cutting edge of technology. People sometimes sell a brand new playstation unit for thousands of dollars, in some cases 5 figures. Being able to turn your playstation 4 unit into massive cash by selling the unit on ebay, is only one reason to preorder it.

You probably want to lock it in at a fixed price yourself so you don't have to be the one paying thousands of dollars to get it.

In addition , you want to make sure you can actually receive one because you just can't miss out on this breakthrough technology.

Rare Playstation 4 picture

So how exactly would you preorder it?
Unfortunately, it's too early to say...
But Check back here in the future and when we find out how, we will notify you. You then will be able to check through our Playstation 4 release date blog links and you will be able to Preorder the Playstation 4.

Update: I believe the best way to handle this business is to keep in contact with sony. You should be on a playstation list, and you should also have a friend or two that works at the stores. This will help you get information before anyone else, so you can quickly preorder it. You might try stopping by and handing them a card with your name and number as well as a note that you want to be notified about any information pertaining to a playstation 4. Additionally, there are plenty of websites which contain news on playstation 3, ps4, and other gaming related news. If you make sure to check with gaming websites constantly you will find the information you need. I have other things going on right now, and periodically, however I will research some info for you and try to get you updated info on the PS4.

Update 11/12: It is my belief that the direction sony went in was to provide the PS Move as a way to refresh and resell the playstation 3. This will help them gain on Nintendo without actually a new game console. As a result they will focus on PSP2, PS Mobile, and PS Tablets and other technology for awhile. If you want to preorder the playstation 4, you are going to have to sit on your hands and wait. In the meantime, perhaps you can preorder the playstation phone or the playstation portable 2.

Playstation 4 to read minds, playstation 5 to cure cancer

We already know that the sony has the technology available to make playstation 4 read minds, but just what else could it do?

We've all heard the exagerations of any new product. The old joke goes "if you want to get something to sell, convince people it will be the cure for everything". Mock ads of products that take this line of marketing make fun of them for over promising and under deliver. We've seen fake ads show magic pills that give you instant enlightenment and knowledge, cure cancer, make the fat thin and fit, make the blind see and the crippled walk, give you perfect physical health, increase your sexual performance and helps you to get any man or woman you want to desire you. But what if someday that's not so far fetched afterall?

In a Previous post, back in June of 2007, I talked about how I believed the PS4 would contain what I call "thought process engineering". The idea is that not only would the playstation 4 be able to READ our thought processes, but with the assistence of a PS4 we could actually model our own thought processes in the exact way we wanted.
I'm very excited to say that part 1 of what I call "thought process engineering" is already not only possible, but easily attainable and probable, and we have yet to see the results of emotiv, but if profitable, playstation 4 will probably begin working on it right away.
But part 2, being able to use the PS4 to model our thought processes requires that the machine can not only receive and use this information but also transmit us and allow 2 way communication with... our own thoughts. (Your imaginary friend is back, and this time is just like you, lol!)

Say we wanted to feel more passion, desire, confidence, excitement, joy, etc. The idea is that if we have the technology for a game to READ our thoughts by detecting the vibrations of the brainwaves, why can't we also learn to have the next playstation game console be able to through the use of the console's game controller, it can actually TRANSMIT those desired thoughts and emotions back to us?

Certainly would take a new meaning to "controller" as it literally would be able to control our mind in the way that we allow it to. Obviously that might be a little scary so the user would certainly have to have the option of turning up or down the game's influence, or turn it completely off, but if we could harness this technology, our wildest dreams would only be a thought away from seeming like reality. And since we have to be able to visualize something before we can make it a reality, we could learn to simulate actual careers and train our minds to become better golfers or more musical or mathematical.

Studies show that our DNA can not only transmit light photons, but actually receive them as well. Photons, contain micro bits of information, and that information is constantly past back and forth. It would be great if a playstation 4 or wii 2 or xbox 720 or another future game console could harness this information and use it to advance technology.

Scientist wanted to create absolute zero, the idea being that there is zero movement between atoms and molecules. And so they built a machine that they thought would get them there. But it turns out the closer they got, the more and more energy was needed to get there, and when they got close, photons were still transmitting data. Some evidence shows that information can be sent light years away instantanously. Quantom String Theory seems to show evidence that there are universally long quantom strings that threads make up the entire universe and that information can be past through these strings. The ps4 potentially could tap into this knowledge by directing the flow of this information, the way we do with our thoughts everyday.

All of this information shows that there is at least a potential scientific explination for psychic phenomenon. But we can't tap into it if we continue to use less than 10% of our brains potential. We can't to our current knowledge sort that information very well, and w cant control HOW that information is transmitted and received.
But what if we could?

What if we could fiure out how to specifically direct the flow of information in such a way that we could transmit these messages. Eventually we could learn to pick up this new "language", by reguarly interracting with it, and use the senses we more fully understand (like sight and sound), to let us know what information is being sent to us. We could synchronize everyone to this same frequency so we could better learn to understand each other.

We could harness our own evolutionary power. People with growth deficiency or injuries could have the PS4 to stimulate growth hormones. People that were blind due to eye damage could have their brains receive the same information they would if they were actually seeing. People that couldn't walk, could stimulate signals in the brain to regain feeling, and perhaps advance the recovery. Perhaps cancer patients could even send have brainwaves sent to let their body know not to allow this growth.

This idea to record brainwaves and transmit them back to the same person, or even more advanced send them to someone else, or even more advanced, use a model to change those waves slightly and send them back has not been accomplished yet to my knowledge. The idea is that you use someone's brain waves make a mold of that pattern, and send them back to someone else. This is the reverse of what they do with Emotiv. So far we only have where man can mentally communicate with the game console. Emotiv tracks what you like about a particular game, and it may be able to better change it's game to suit your needs. Perhaps the breakthrough technology of the PS4 will be that we can take someone hooked up to a playstation 4 "controller" or brain remote, and not only will the machine be able to read the brainwaves, and change the game, but it might have a feature where you tell the machine what mood you are in on a scale of one to 10, and the game will use that information to actually record your brainwaves, and "reward" you by resubmitting these brainwaves back to you at a later time. Perhaps you will be able to "upload" your own thoughts, feelings, and sensations, and have them transmitted back to you whenever you choose, or even tell the machine what thesefeelings are, and the game will associate certain thoughts and feelings with actions in the game. So you weren't able to save the new final fantasy character, perhaps you will feel sad.
I could even speculate that perhaps playstation 4, 5, or 6 would tap into a "universal consciousness" by "logging in" online, and then have your brainwaves synchronized with other gamers that have similar brainwaves. Perhaps we could even use this technology to directly transmit thoughts with friends. Perhaps we could "matrix" the information much like Keanu Reaves was programed in the movie the matrix to download the skills to instantly learn martial arts, and to learn to fly a helicopter. Who knows what the future could bring. With a future game console, maybe 2, 3 or 4 game generations away, the information age would expload into a new age as we would not only be able to upload all the information, but have all of the mental and emotional abilities we wanted, and even stimulate our growth hormones to give us over time the physical abilities we wanted.

This all might sound a little weird, especially the whole tapping into "universal consciousness" by having everyone connect together and learn of each other's thoughts, and certainly it would have to be used with great care... But if this could be perfected, we could all better come to a more positive understanding of each other, and there would be no need for hatred and predjudice... so now it could create world peace.

I'm laughing as I type this, because not only does this describe the potential of future PS4s and PS5s, but the power of our own mind, and because of what I'm actually saying the future could bring.

So the old saying is to give them the idea that your product can be the cure for all. I think a better approach would be to actually create something that achieves results. So perhaps the future of gaming, such as future sony playstations, could do exactly like these psuedo-ads of magic pills could do and then some.
Coming soon, the playstation 4 and playstation 5. It will give you instant enlightenment and knowledge, cure cancer, make the fat thin and fit, make the blind see and the crippled walk, give you perfect physical health, increase your sexual performance and helps you to get any man or woman you want to desire you.... oh yeah... and create world peace.

The Economy Depends On The Future Of Gaming!

While there hasn't been much news of the development, and every youtube video about the topic seems to be nothing more than a "rickroll", I decided to stop by yet again, to speculate.

With the current state of the market in a recession, could that impact the future of technology?

Might Sony need to cut back for financial reasons? Or even if they wanted to spend, might it be difficult to find the technology in mass development?

The Sad truth is that the reccession impacts everyone!

With that being said, the gaming industry seems to still be doing well relative to the rest of the economy. And what could help the cause is that Japan, home to Nintendo and of course Sony, although still impacted, has invested a lot of money in nanotechnology, in fact, more than any other country has. So I actually remain somewhat optomistic about the future of gaming. I think that innovation is what we need if we are going to help turn things around. Some believe the internet boom and innovation is what kept money flowing into the market in the late 90s when markets may have otherwized declined. That's both positive and negative. It's Negative because if not for such booms, the markets may not have been bid up so high in the exhuberant times leading to an unnatural boom, and now the unnatural "bust" we are experiencing.

It may not have been the internet that brought the economy down, but it was the failure of new ideas and continuous innovation that made them come back to reality, which was much lower than anyone imagined, as the dot com innovation took the market much higher than people realize. Of course it wasn't until 2008 that the market peaked, but the market actually has been in a fall since 2000 if you measure it in gold. Gold is a better indicator since you could double the amount of money overnight and everything would cost twice as much even if the economic conditions declined. Former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan effectively did so by lowering inerest rates, and irresponsible spending casued inflation to result in a rise in prices. So if stocks have been in a decline in TRUE value since 2000, why?

In some measures the market was overvalued in the late 90s, even the mid 90s. Warren Buffett stepped out of the market in 96 because he felt stocks were overvalued. But he didn't realize how big the mania of the tech boom was going to be.

You see, the internet tech boom of the 90s was much more responsible for the decline than anyone realizes. First you have several investors putting a whole bunch of money into internet companies when stocks are overpriced. Then, you have every day people becomming CEOs and business owners of, internet companies and taking advantage of all this money pumping in as people look for the next Yahoo and ebay (the next yahoo was Google, the next Ebay was Amazon). So now you have all these CEOs out of nowhere getting paid in stock options and becomming rich over night along with everyone owning stocks. Of course then you have the wide open lending practices. Fill out a form and you'll get a loan, put up nothing down now...

Everyone thought with the market in a "new economy" that they could simply sell their stocks and pay everything off... and besides home prices rise so if we can't make payment we can always sell on the spot.

The problem is, several companies manufactured earnings, and rather than innovate there was people that were crooks that tinkered with the numbers. That was not the very end, but eventually the money could no longer continue to flow faster and faster nor could the new innovations. So suddenly people put their money into real estate, as the money transfered over for awhile into real estate. People had been accustomed to overpaying for houses, because that's what they had always done, and it continued to go up and up.

The problem was there wasn't enough income to feed this bubble for very long.

With the new CEO getting the dot com stock options and high increasing income, that made sense. But the average income plummeted, and people had to move out or find another way to make money Now people wanted in on this market, even though they couldn't afford it.

You have every day people adding to the hype, you have people lying about what they have in assets to get bigger loans and bigger houses, they all figure they all can sell at higher prices, but since EVERYONE is buying now, and not as many people will buy later, it is difficult.

So without the influx of dot com money, you could simply not expect people to spend like they did before. Yet they still did. Some of them sold early and dealt with the realization that they couldn't afford as much, but others tok out home equity loans and continued to buy, using their home as a credit card to pay off their other credit cards which were used to pay off credit cards. But this could not last forever even as people lied about their income to borrow more to buy another house and use it as a credit card to pay off their additional debts.

But even worse, as the money transfered over into the oil businesses, and gold mines due to all this excess money from low interest rates, soon businesses had to deal with high gas prices and expenses for food and other things that had inflated in value due to the low interest rates that was a reaction to the sharp sell offs. Meanwhile the consumer had to deal with those things as well, and it wasn't long before they couldn't afford as much. So now the retailers had to hike up the prices and make job cuts, and people lost income and as the income declined, their ability to purchased declined with inflation, but now they had to deal with less income in dollars as well. Now is where the businesses started to crumble, and even those at the top (gold and oil) were not going to be able to continue to profit the same way. People were not going to make the same mistakes they did. So everyone spent less, businesses went under, job cuts were made, lower income results in lower income, and soon, all of the people looking to buy a new home are terrified of buying, plus they don't have enough income to support the current prices anyways.

This is a very serious negative trend, so how can I be optomistic?

Well, there are two ways out of this mess. One is to let nature run it's course, something that should have been done after the peak in 2000, but if done now, the consequences could be disastrous. If we do nothing, we may have a depression. But if we try to pump all this excess money into the system things may be good for awhile, but it may actually make things even worse IF that extra money and credit doesn't lead to more actual production.

The real solution is innovation... we are spending with the HOPE that serious innvation that revolutionizes everything can make what is an inflated level that people can't pay for seem reasonable. An example would be if all of a sudden an invention came along that reduced our dependency on oil and gas (and solar isn't going to cut it). Something like cold fusion, zero point energy, or Teslas free energy ideas.

While a playstation 4 might not be the cure to zero point energy or cold fusion, it is at least a start. See all the stimulous plans in the world won't bail out an economy if people aren't willing to spend, and companies aren't going to produce if there is no demand. BUT new innovative products that people just HAVE to have WILL get people spending. It will get investors back in the markets, and if confidence can be restored jobs will start again. If people can actually form companies that produce value that people are willing to payfor, the exchange of value will help all of us. It isn't that there isn't enough to go around because there's enough natural resources for everyone to live like millionaires. It's that there's not enough innovative ways to continously do new things that people are going to continuously want to exchange their wealth for, in a way that everyone can continue to bennefit.

Out of neccessity there's certain things that people need. Food, water. If the economy consisted only of this, everyone would have to be in farming or the business of water and exchage food for water. But then there would be people in other parts of the world who wouldn't survive because the climate isn't right to grow food. But, the economy also uses minerals, which people use to build tractors which tractor businesses create in an innovative way. Because of this innovation, now the farmers can grow more food, and the people with a lot of food would certainly be willing to give a LOT of food away in order to have this tractor, and as a result, the company making this device would be willing to also give a lot of food to those that can supply the material. Then those that supply the material would have to innovate to find an easy way to get it out of the ground. So someone else might innovate and make a new creation. It's this innovation that allows us all to live great lives.

Some people think communism is great in theory, but observe that it never works and it probably won't work. Why? Because when people are forced into certain jobs into such a strict system that only functions a certain way, there's no room or reward for innovation. When people aren't creatively going on their own to look for their own solution.

So state run capitalism (facism) or comunism with a dictator, won't work becase there's no room for innovation. It's a utopian view of the world, but the world is not good enough for a utopia. It does not run effeciently enough. In a utopian society more people would have to die, population would have to be controlled, and innovation could never occur.

This idea that God is done creating is wrong, that the universe is done and is already "complete" is wrong. It continues to grow, chemicals, continue to combine, planets continue to form, the universe continues to expand, and we must innovate to keep up with the changing world. Soon the population will continue to grow, unless something changes, and in order to pay for all of the resources we continue to need, we must find a way to get more out of what we already have, and find a way to harness the infinitely available energy of sun, wind, earth, but also innovate and find ways to combine chemicals and harness the quantom power of all the atoms and electrons.

Whether it's cold fusion or simply a game that requires nano technology, the playstation 4 could just be the new technology we need to get the momentum going again.

Whats to say that the next play station doesn't provide such a powerful engine that people are able to use it to simulate and understand cold fusion or the quantom energy field. What's to say that by accident developers try to create a system that has a device that better monitors our movement and in doing so they make it so powerful that it can even monitor the atoms around us?

Never underestimate the power of innovation, especially when it comes to a new playstation 4 console.

PS4 console to contain thought process engineering?

PS4 Console Update: It was amazing to see some of these playstation 4 ideas that I had come true right in front of our eyes. Okay, so the PS4 hasn't been released yet and there hasn't even been a definitive playstation 4 (PS4) release date, however, there is another game console called Emotiv that HAS been released that does in fact incorperate these game console ideas using thought processing technology!

Apparently there is now technology that allows you to complete an action simply thinking about it. For those of you that questioned the "law of attraction" and wondered about it's effects, maybe this is more proof that you can actually understand, rather than the scientific and mathematical gibberish.

Believe it or not, our brainwaves are very much things. Anything we think of actually causes our brains to fire electrons off in a certain pattern. That pattern actually causes a vibrational wave with a unique pattern, very similar to the way a radio wave, or sound wave.

update: Emotiv actually created a mathematical algorithm to measure brainwave activity and the micro-movements that occur as a result of the brainwaves hitting your head... sounds very science fiction, but it's actually true . Could we see the same technology from a Ninetedo Wii 2, or Sony Playstation 4 Console?

Brainwaves are nothing new, this has been known for a very long while. But what's only been recently discovered is proof is the impact these waves have. Brainwaves act almost as a magnetic wave drawing things closer, and pushing things away. Who knows, a kind, highly focused thought might be the cause of all the seemingly miraculous recoveries from diseases.

It's very much true that our brain can effect the entire world around us. But until now, we've never been able to reveal how specific of an effect our thoughts can have.

Although it sounds like something out of a science fiction movie, researchers at Washington University in St Louis have in fact successfully succeeded in creating a computer game that responds directly to brain waves. A grid atop the brain monitors brain activity and translates it into game commands. The study was conducted using epileptic patients. By simply thinking about the motion they were able to get a cursor to move a target and have succeeded in at least a 74% accuracy.

Update: This technology has been advanced much farther, and I expect the PS4 console to advance this technology as well.

Gamers may think this is really cool, but they are most certainly not the only ones who should be enthused about this information. Researchers believe that as technology develops they will be able to use it to control prosthetic limbs.

Now if you are like me then you are fascinated about the way we think. There are so many possibilities here. Eventually we will be able to track and monitor our brainwaves. Soon we will have those machines able to send us the exact pattern of the specific thoughts that we want no matter what kind of day you are having.

Think of the best day you ever had. No matter what you did you knew that everything was going to work out. Or if you had one of those days where no matter what you did, you would always get the result you wanted. Now imagine being able to program a machine to those waves. You could feel good anytime you wanted to. If you needed to get stuff done, you simply transmit the "efficiency waves".

There are currently machines that do this sort of thing. They actually send you sound waves and light waves designed to stimulate your brain in a certain way
Now whenever you want you can As someone who has read books about the law of attraction and Richard Bandler's NLP, there is hope that we will someday be able to create a complete mold of brainwaves, make the changes needed, and transmit it back to someone.

Personally, I think it will one day be used as a very important tool to monitor a list of things that our thoughts resonate with (that we will attract into our life if we maintain the same frame of mind), but also to act as a guide on how to shape our minds to achieve the results that we choose.

2012 - a date for technology making the PS3 look primitive

*warning: this post (as well others) is extremely speculative, and makes a great assumption, and as such, it is not intended to be taken very seriously, however may express some things that are of great possibility .The year 2012... Significant in many aspects especially towards the end of the year. There are many theories that it will be the the end of the earth... The apocalypse based on Mayan predictions and the bible code. Actually some scholars now believe the Mayan calander is off and the end date actually isn't for much later than 2012, however collectively everyone is still focused on that date. Astrologically 2012 is known as "zero point". However others reason that although it is a significant, it will not be the death of the earth, but simply a new age. Apocalypse simply means "the awakening". A time when the current economical and political states will vanish, and the human race will become more aware of it's potential. Some even say that we will evolve and our DNA itself will transformed. Many say that the "photon belt" an astrological belt of a high frequency of energy and light is approaching. Sounds science fiction? Indeed!

But I'm not here to talk about the theories of humanity's end, or transformation, I'm here to talk about another reason that has not been mentioned yet. The overall knowledge in the world has been doubling throughout history. Not only that, but the rate in which it's doubling is accelerating exponentially. Currently the amount of available knowledge will double once in under 18 months. If the trend continues to speed up the doubling rate, the amount of knowledge at the beginning of 2012 will double every day. Towards the end of 2012 it will double every nanosecond. With this kind of knowledge, one can only wonder what it will do to technology. Moore's law says that the speed of technology (for a fixed size) doubles about once every 18 months. This was not done by looking back far enough to notice it's patterns, but I would guess that technology and knowledge run closely parallel.

Enough with the talk, what's this mean for PS4, which could very likely be released somewhere around that time?

The answer: Whatever you want it to.

Get out your sci-fi books and movies, because if any of this is remotely true, the things we will be able to do in 2012 will be seemingly an infinite amount of times more than we currently can. This means that your very thoughts will be able to influence the design of the game. The games will connect to the network where all thoughts will create additions and "tweak" the game. Perhaps that means the system is not a physical gaming system, but instead a neural network we can tap into with our thoughts, and that way connect with everything and everyone. With this collective consciousness (rather than collective unconscious which is what famed psychologist Karl Jung believed was something that many geniuses tapped into for all major source of inspiration), we will actively be able to access the seemingly infinite.

Believe it or not, but there already has been research study where participants using their thoughts and the type of technology that can detect brainwaves and intention, were able to, with a 70% success rate, move a cursor, grab an object and move it on a screen.

Imagine as you read, the mouse you move to scroll this page down will once not exist. Simply think of the cursor moving down, and it will.

But I suspect a much more intimate relationship of you and your PS4. Not only will you be able to control the games action with your thoughts, but the games actions will influence your thoughts in a way that seems real.

Smell touch taste and feel what you would if you were in the game (of course the pain-threshold would be tuned way down, and the amount of violent games with your entire "experience" would be greatly limited). If you're blind, deaf, or lack any of your 5 senses, you still will enjoy the experience as if you had all 5 senses. It will stimulate the areas of the brain of "seeing", and perhaps through such sensations it may actually be able to simulate sight for people that still have healthy eyes but are blind due to the brain being unable to access the areas of the brain responsible for sight.

Enjoy any experience known to man. Take a magical journey to wherever your mind can take you. In fact, the game may have a mind of its own, learning which experiences stimulates your desired emotional states, and giving you more of it. Instantly learn any skills in the world like Neo when he downloaded a ton of info and suddenly said "I know kung fu" or instantly became a pilot.

But as my imagination is limited somewhat by my knowledge, this is only the beginning.

So prepare yourself to enter the matrix, take the red pill and see just how far this rabbit hole will go. A world of fantasy and a never ending rabitt hole is on it's way.... if of course civilization survives long enough so we can experience it.

update: The thought processing has actually evolved a step farther with the gaming system eMotiv. Emotive is a gaming system that responds to your thoughts and allows you to control the character with the game. It's not mainstream, but always before a technology becomes mainstream and popular, you will hear about it's development or something similar before hand. Motion technology wasn't at all popular until Dance Dance Revolution, then there were farther developments before the Wii came out and popularized it one step further and then motion technology developed and PS3 was on the cutting edge with playstation move. My guess is that this could very easily be the next stage in gaming but it could be awhile before we really see major improvements and implimentation.

sony to release ps4 this christmas

Sony to Release PS4 this Christmas

By Jordan Baugher

Tokyo , Japan- Sony President Ken Kutaragi held an impromptu press conference today, stunning the world by announcing the imminent release of the PlayStation 4. Deciding to forego the intended release of the much-anticipated PS3 and concentrate on the release of the as-yet unanticipated PS4, Sony has decided to market its new system as "a leap ahead of our competition."

PS4 picWhile no new titles have been announced for the PS4, Kutaragi assured reporters that the PS4 would be reverse-compatible with PS3 games and that a new system would eventually be released that would be compatible with PS4 games once the technology to make them was invented.

"That system behind you looks like the PS3 we've already seen displayed at much every electronics show for the last year, how is this a different system?" asked one reporter.

Kutaragi replied: "Well, as you can see, this has a 4 on it, and the other model had a 3. That increase represents an entire extra integer of gaming quality, one the critics said we couldn't achieve for another 10 years."

This article is for entertainment purposes only.

When asked if this was all one big marketing gimmick, Kutaragi went on to explain that while the specs for the PS4 were not essentially different from the PS3, the price would increase dramatically "to reflect the increase in quality."

It is rumored that Microsoft will announce plans to recall all Xbox 360s to "upgrade" them to Xbox 720s in what's being called a "packaging innovation."

Why Is There A Playstation 3 Shortage?

by Gary Ruplinger

Sony has again cut their estimate for the number of Playstation 3 units they'll be shipping to the U.S. by the end of 2006. New estimates are saying only 750,000-1,000,000 systems will be available this holiday season.

Several stores have announced they won't even have enough units to cover the preorders they received. Gamestop has reported they'll only be receiving enough PS3s to cover 60% of their preorders. Amazon recently announced they won't be accepting any preorders for the PS3 and can't guarantee they'll have any before 2007.

So why is there a shortage of the Playstation 3 items anyway?

It all goes back to Sony's decision to include their new high definition video format - Blu-ray. The drive will allow for high definition gaming as well as allow PS3 owners to watch Blu-ray movies. The PS3 will be the cheapest Blu-ray player on the market by far as well due to the fact that Sony is absorbing a few hundred dollar loss on each system sold.

The problem with the Blu-ray drive is that making the blue laser diode needed for manufacturing the drive is proving notoriously difficult to manufacture. The two plants producing the diode, one owned by Sony, are both reporting lower than expected yields on their diodes. The low yields have forced Sony to cut estimates of having 4 million units ready this year in the U.S. to just 1 million. Sony has also postponed the release of its own standalone Blu-ray player and is using all the blue laser diodes that it does produce in its Playstation 3.

Although blue laser diode yield rates will certainly be improved over time, in the short term the problem isn't going to go away. Don't expect to see the PS3 sitting on shelves in a store just waiting for you to buy it until well into 2007.

That's not to say it will be impossible to get. For those willing to pay a premium price on aftermarket sites like eBay, there will be plenty of Playstation 3's available.

sony ps4: sooner than you think

People have been raving about the PlayStation 3, the stunning graphics, the cell chip processor, the blue ray and it's amazing capabilities.

Flashback 15 years ago. Capcom released Street Fighter II for arcades. Tecmo released Tecmo Super Bowl for NES, and Sega released Sonic the Hedgehog.
Nintendo releases the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

The release of the 16 bit Sega Genesis in '89 created competition with Nintendo who was previously dominating the home console internet gaming market. However, in '91 SNES brought Nintendo ahead once again.

At this time Sony was nowhere to be found in the gaming industry. However, at this time Sony had seen the power of the video game consoles, and began quietly working on a console that would rival Nintendo and Sega as the best game console on the market at the time. The Sony PlayStation became the first ever game console to sell over 100 million game units in March of 2005. The Sony also had the capability to play audio CDs, as Sony refused to say it was strictly a game console. This trend continued as it released the PlayStation 2, and it became the fastest selling console, selling over 105 million copies between October 26th, 2000 and March 31, 2006. The PS2 had the capability to not only be backward compatible in playing PlayStation 1 games, but it also played music, as well as DVD movies.

Flash back to the present time and Microsoft has now entered as a major player introducing their 2nd game console the Xbox360, which followed the Xbox. And even though Nintendo didn't have outside revenue from things such as stereos, computer software, home appliance and entertainment systems, they refused to be held back from being a major player in the game console market. They released the Nintendo Wii that will compete not only with the Xbox360, but was released in time for the Holidays to compete with the new PlayStation 3.

The PlayStation 3 is nothing short of amazing. The blu-ray drive makes it possible tor play ultra high density optical discs capable of storing digital media, including high definition video, allowing for some of the most stunning graphics you have ever seen. It also, comes with bluetooth wireless controller and most importantly the cell processing chip, the same chip used in some supercomputers.

According to wikipedia, during the Japan release on Novemeber 11th, 2006, the PlayStation3 sold 81,639 copies within the first 24 hours. It remains sold out and was found selling for as high as $15,000 on Ebay. If the 20 GB built in hard drive isn't enough, the PS3 also comes in a premium version containing not only a 60 GB hard drive, but multiple flash card readers.

Will we see a PlayStation 4? Not only is the answer sooner then many people think, but according to Sony's Ken Kutaragi, they plan on releasing it within the next decade.

"My dream, and the dream of all my team, hasn't finished," Kutaragi told the BBC recently. "In fact we haven't achieved even half of what we're going to do."

"We want to lead with the PlayStation 3, and beyond that to the PlayStation 4 within the next decade."

One can only speculate on what the future of PlayStation is going to bring. It's hard to imagine it getting much better, but yet, every single release manages to innovate and exceed expectations.
But one thing is for certain, they will always look to provide more for their hungry consumers, and they will continue to look for ways to improve technology beyond current capabilities.

Playstation 4 Within Next Decade?

PS4 Within the Next Decade

Pffft. Forget about the PlayStation 3 (well, not really) - Sony is already looking ahead to its successor.

Never afraid to speak his mind, sony's Ken Kutaragi, the man behind the PlayStation division, is looking to the future - the far future. While Kutaragi and the rest of Sony's engineers are hard at work hammering out the kinks in the PlayStation 3, the so-called father of the PlayStation is letting his mind wander to its successor.

"My dream, and the dream of all my team, hasn't finished," Kutaragi told the BBC recently. "In fact we haven't achieved even half of what we're going to do."

"We want to lead with the PlayStation 3, and beyond that to the PlayStation 4 within the next decade."

Of course, with the PlayStation 3 not even here yet, it's much too early for any concrete talk about the potential of the hardware that follows it. But it may just be something wholly new.

Earlier this year, at the International Games Summit in London, Sony's David Reeves spoke of Sony's vision for the future, where games are a small part of the content that flows through Sony's "games" machines - a term the company insists it has never used about the PlayStation 3.

As it stands now, Sony's supporters are anxiously waiting to see what the PlayStation 3 will be able to do, and whether the millions of pounds spent developing its Cell chip has been worth it.
There is currently no firm release date for the PlayStation 3, but it's expected to launch in Japan within the first half of 2006 followed by North America and Europe.
